In September of 2015, Ford Sollers launched a new engine plant in Elabuga with investments amounting to $275 million and confirming the plans for localization and expansion of its presence in Russia. The new plant is outfitted with the advanced, hi-tech equipment that allowed automating the production by 95%. The plant produces three versions of the 1.6L Duratec engine with 85 hp, 105 hp and 125 hp. These engines have a significant degree of localization with the main components delivered by Russian suppliers and made from local raw materials. By the beginning of 2016, the company reached the localization level of 45%. The annual capacity of the engine plant at the first stage amounts to 105,000 engines, with a possible increase up to 200,000 engines annually.
